Privacy Policy

Overview

CommentHarvest ("we", "our") is a Chrome extension that helps you extract publicly visible comments from supported websites and export them. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

Data we collect

• Account data: email address and authentication identifiers when you sign up via email/password or Google OAuth (processed by Supabase Auth).
• Subscription data: Stripe customer ID, subscription status, and billing period end date (processed by Stripe; we store references in our database).
• Scraped content (local): comments, page URLs, page titles, and platform metadata are stored in chrome.storage.local on your device.
• Scraped content (cloud, Pro only): if you have an active Pro subscription, scrape sessions may be synced to our Supabase database for history backup (up to 200 sessions).

Data we do not collect

We do not sell your data. We do not collect browsing history outside supported platform pages where you explicitly run a scrape. Free-tier users' scraped comments are not uploaded to our servers.

Third-party services

• Supabase — authentication and database hosting.
• Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
• Google — optional sign-in and Google Docs export (requires your Google account consent).

Storage and retention

Local scrape history is stored on your device until you delete it or uninstall the extension. Pro cloud sessions are retained until you delete them or cancel your subscription, subject to our 200-session limit per user.

Your rights

You may delete local history from the extension, delete cloud sessions (Pro), cancel your subscription via the billing portal, or request account deletion by contacting support@commentharvest.app.

Security

Authentication tokens are stored locally in Chrome extension storage. Server-side operations use encrypted HTTPS. Subscription status is verified server-side before granting Pro features.
